The chicken biryani was fragrant and flavorful. Portion size was also quite filling. Masala tea was a good way to end the meal.
I had chicken briyani ($7) and chai masala ($2.50) here for lunch on a weekday upon recommendation of a local SG here. Tucked in Cuff Road, this warm, friendly, and humble restaurant served Muslim Indian food in generous amount of food when I patroned here. Taste-wise, my taste buds noted that they have used authentic herbs and spices in their briyani without the additional taste of MSG which is common in most cooking nowadays. The level of herbs and spiciness is balanced and not too overwhelming. Try to avoid bits and pieces of green chili in the briyani and curry sauce if you can't tolerate the extra heat. In the briyani rice itself, is a drumstick of chicken and one boiled egg. The chicken is so tender and succulent that its meat comes off its bone easily. If it gets too spicy, the side dish, raw cucumber and onion in yogurt, serves to cool down the heat (albeit be careful to separate the green raw chili mixed with it too, if you can't handle the extra heat like me). To wrap up my lunch, I enjoyed the chai masala, to finish off as a sweet treat towards the end of my meal. I had a memorable meal and would definitely come back soon.
I used to come here for lunch once in a while. Sometimes the biryani would be great, and other times, it would be the worst you’ve had in your lifetime. This shop lacks consistency; if you’re lucky, you may get a good biryani to taste here, but it can’t meet your expectations every time. If you’ve tasted a good biryani, that means you’re lucky. Unfortunately, today, I wasn’t lucky enough, and I had the worst biryani of my life.
Advice to the restaurant owner: Please taste and do some quality checks before serving people. You’re not offering free food; you’re running a business, so please keep that in mind.
Food is good. Tender mutton and the rasaam here is thick and flavourful. However raita was a little off taste.
Service is even better, owner and lady behind cashier made sure to recommend me their specialities. Took away some rice so I could eat again tomorrow
I am currently in the hunt for the best biryani in the town and exploring all legendary joints. Bhai Biryani was recommended by a lot of Indian diaspora but it failed to meet my expectations. Though pricing is very economical and the service is great, Biryani failed to satisfy my discerning taste buds. The mutton was succulent but rice and the masala was not flavorful. The restaurant has very humble setting and service is super fast.
Mr. Biryani is still the top of the charts 🙂
One of the best restaurant in Singapore for biriyani and ghee rice !!! Staff are very courteous and helpfull. Handsdown the best experience for travellers for yummy food at an affordable price .... Must go if you are Singapore.
i would give a -20/5 if i could...the chicken was so undercooked and the chicken 65 had visible blood in it...the flesh was so pink also...we had to throw it away. since we had take away we couldnt really complain. the biriyani was very mid also...they hadnt used basmati rice but some cheap ponni rice for it, not worth the price AT ALL!! i've had way better biriyani...very basic...tasted like flavored rice with a few pieces of chicken in it...lost the authentic feel...not recommended to buy from here unless u like extremely uncooked meat
As the name says, their speciality is Biriyani.
Kind of Biriyani: Dhum, rice is a bit wet soaked (as proper dhum should be)
Spice Level: Moderate
Meat flavor: Amazing
Very reasonably price good portions of Biriyani can find in town. Their sides are really tasty as well.
Warm service. Must try this place in Cuff Road, Singapore.
